Selmer 500 Series saxophones are designed for ease of play and accurate intonation while providing for a focused, centered tone. A high F# key extends the natural range of the instrument to perform advanced literature. Adjusting screws on the left and right hand sections and articulated C# simplify adjustment and regulation without bending keys. Engraved bells based on a traditional French pattern achieve a professional look. Detachable sculptured key guards make the instruments easy to repair and enhance their appearance. A key feature of the 500 Series is the ergonomic key design that allows for correct and comfortable hand position. The rocking table key mechanism facilitates technique between low Bb, B# and C#. Linear placement of the left hand octave key spat and lower palm key spat height for high D, D# and F naturally fit the small hands of young musicians. In-line design of left and right hand key sections creates a natural, comfortable feel while an adjustable molded right hand thumb rest alleviates stress.
