Oval-hole mandolins possess throaty and vocal tonal characteristics that are wonderfully compatible with mandolin orchestras, and Celtic/folk music. These mandolins also produce a perceived ambient reverb, due to the oval-hole opening lying directly below the courses of strings.

The Eastman MD404 harkens back to the classic A style instruments from the 1920s era with mahogany back and sides and black finished spruce tops.With the installed K&K pickup it's ready to hit the stage!
